Influenced by upper trough and southwest airflow, Guangdong sees frequent thunderstorms recently. Part of the province is accompanied by local short-term heavy rains and 8-10 level short-term typhoons, so the high temperature is expected to cool down gradually.

From July 30th and 31st, western and eastern Guangdong as well as the Pearl River Delta region will meet cloudy weather with a chance of moderate to strong thunderstorms, locally heavy rains and downpours. In northern Guangdong, it will be cloudy and sunny with moderate thunderstorms and local cloudbursts.
On August 1st, the province’s coastal cities will be cloudy with a chance of moderate thunderstorms and local downpours, while other areas will meet cloudy and sunny weather with thunderstorms and locally heavy rains.
Remember to bring an umbrella all the time and be cautious about local lightning strikes and short-term gales.
